Your social media followers are people who already know you. People searching online are people who don’t know you yet. A website is the only way to reach the latter group.

Since 2023, there have been numerous reports from hair salon owners that Instagram’s organic reach has dropped significantly.

This isn’t to say social media is useless. Social media is a “place to build a fan base,” while a website is a “place where people trust you enough to make a reservation”—they each serve different roles.
